Property Disposable in Will

A person can use their will to give away all of their possessions, both real and personal property, whether they acquired them before or after making their will.

  • Real property refers to land and buildings.

  • Personal property includes items like money, jewelry, and furniture.

Note: Individuals can only give away property that they own or have a legal claim to at the time of their death including:

  • Estates that name the testator

  • Future interests, rights of entry
