Holiday Pay
Public Holidays include:
Family Day;
Saskatchewan Day;
New Years Day;
Family Day;
Good Friday;
Victoria Day;
Canada Day;
Saskatchewan Day;
Labour Day;
Thanksgiving Day;
Remembrance Day;
Christmas Day.
Employers must pay employees for public holidays, either 5% of the employee's wages earned in the four weeks prior to the holiday, or an amount calculated in a prescribed manner for certain categories of employees.
If an employee works on a public holiday, the employer must pay them the holiday pay plus 1.5 times their hourly wage for each hour worked, or a prescribed amount for certain categories of employees.
