Vacation Pay
If an employee works for an employer for a continuous twelve-month period, the employer is required to give the employee an unbroken vacation of at least:
two weeks if the employee has been employed for less than 8 years; or
three weeks if the employee has been employed for more than 8 years
The employer is also required to notify the employee of the vacation's start date and pay the employee an amount at least equal to:
4% of the employee's yearly wages if the employee has been employed for less than 8 years; or
6% of the employee's yearly wages if the employee has been employed for more than 8 years.
Vacation pay upon termination of an employee
If an employee is terminated, they are entitled to the vacation pay that they would have been entitled to if they had continued employment
Holiday during vacation
If a paid holiday occurs during the employee's vacation, the vacation period shall be extended by one working day
Vacation pay in lieu of vacation
An employee who works for an employer for a continuous twelve-month period and works less than 90 percent of the normal working hours during that period may waive the employee's entitlement to vacation with pay in return for the payment.
