Standard Hours
The standard number of hours of work that an employer may require an employee to work during a week is 48 hours.
There are certain exemptions to these standard hours including the following industries:
Construction, maintenance, traffic control and snow removal of highways, roads and streets have the standard hours of 55 hours per week
The seafood storage industry has standard hours of 55 hours per week
In the Trucking industry the standard hours are 55 hours per week
In the healthcare industry, the standard hours are 96 hours in a two-week period. After the 96 hours overtime begins.
