Bereavement Leave
An employee who has been employed for at least 2 weeks is entitled to take a leave of absence without pay when someone they know dies.
This includes the:
spouse,
parents,
children,
grandparents,
siblings, or
a dependent relative.
The employee must inform their employer about taking leave.
If an employee takes any part of a day off, it will be considered one full day of leave.
The employer may ask the employee to provide evidence if required.
Any leave taken under the employment agreement in the same circumstances will be considered when calculating eligibility for this leave.
