If the rental agreement specifies a date when the tenancy will end, the tenant can end the tenancy by giving the landlord notice at least 30 days before that date.

If the rental agreement is for a subsidized public housing unit, the landlord can end the tenancy by giving the tenant notice at least 30 days before the specified end date.

If the rental agreement is for a monthly tenancy, the landlord can end the tenancy on the last day of a rental period by giving the tenant notice at least 30 days before that day.

If the specified end date is within 31 days of the start of the rental agreement, the agreement will end on the specified date even if no notice is given.
