Vacation Pay
Employees are entitled to take a vacation and get paid for it after working for their employer for a year.
The length of the vacation and the amount of pay increase after five years of employment with the same employer.
The vacation must start within six months of becoming entitled to it. When calculating the years of employment, any year worked for the same employer within a ten-year period is included.
The vacation pay must be at least:
4% of the employee's annual wages for the first five years and
6% for the sixth and subsequent years.
The vacation pay must be paid at least one day before the vacation begins.
Vacation Pay upon Termination
If the employee stops working before completing a year of employment, the employer must pay them any vacation pay owed for completed years and the portion of the current year.
