Sick Leave
The employee is entitled to at least five days of sick leave without pay during each 12-month period, subject to certain conditions.
To be eligible for sick leave, the employee must:
be unable to work due to an illness or injury,
have worked for the employer for at least 30 days, and
submit a written request to the employer stating the duration of the leave.
If the sick leave is expected to be longer than three consecutive days, the employee must provide a medical certificate.
The employer's duties under this section do not replace or reduce their obligations under the Workers' Compensation Act.
