Vacation Pay
if an employee works for an employer for
at least 12 months, the employer must give them a vacation of at least 2 weeks (or 3 weeks if the employee has been there for more than 8 years).
The employer must tell the employee when their vacation will start at least 1 week in advance, and pay them at least 4% of their wages (or 6% if the employee has been there for more than 8 years) one day before the vacation starts.
If the employer and employee agree, they can divide the vacation into two or more periods, as long as the total vacation time is at least as long as the minimum required. In this case, the employer must still give notice and pay the employee as required for each period.
Vacation Pay upon termination
If an employee works for an employer and does not get a paid vacation or pay in place of a vacation, and if their employment is ended, the employer must pay the employee within ten days after their employment ends.
The amount paid must be:
at least 4% of the employee's wages if they worked for less than 8 years, or
at least 6% if they worked for more than 8 years.
