The Landlord must:

• provide the rental property in a clean and habitable condition,

• maintain it in good repair, comply with safety and building standards, and

• keep common areas clean and safe.

These responsibilities apply regardless of whether the tenant was aware of any issues before entering into the rental agreement. However, this law does not apply to rental agreements made before this section came into force.
