Wrongful Termination
Wrongful termination occurs when an employer terminates an employee:
without the required notice or pay instead of notice;
without reasonable cause;
due to an employee exercising their rights under the Employment Standards Act such as:
applying for a leave
making a complaint
providing evidence of an employer violating the law
If an employee is wrongfully terminated, they may be entitled to compensation through an application to the board, a formal complaint, or legal action.
