Bereavement Leave

Employers must provide employees with up to 5 days of unpaid leave when a close family member dies. The leave must be taken during the period of mourning and must begin no later than the day of the funeral.

Employees must notify their employer of their intention to take the leave, the expected start date of the leave, and the expected duration of the leave (subject to the maximum 5 days in this case)
