A tenant cannot rent their rental unit to someone else (sublet) or transfer their lease agreement (assign) without the landlord's written permission.

• If there are 6 months or more left on the lease, the landlord cannot unreasonably refuse this permission.

• The landlord cannot charge the tenant for considering or granting this permission.
