The standard terms that must be included in every agreement, such as:

• the legal names of the landlord and tenant,

• the address of the rental unit,

• the date the agreement is entered into, and

• the amount of rent payable.

Landlords must provide tenants with a copy of the agreement within 21 days of signing it.

Landlords are not allowed to charge application or processing fees, and they cannot change or remove standard terms from an agreement without the tenant's agreement.

The rights and responsibilities of both parties under the agreement start from the date the agreement is signed, regardless of whether the tenant has moved in yet.
