Rent Increase
A landlord cannot increase the rent of a tenant for at least 12 months after the date of the first rent payment or the last rent increase, whichever is later.
The landlord must give the tenant at least 3 months' notice of any rent increase, and the increase cannot exceed the amount calculated according to regulations or agreed upon by the tenant.
If the notice does not comply with the regulations, it takes effect on the earliest compliant date.
A tenant cannot dispute a rent increase that complies with the regulations. If the landlord collects an increase that does not comply with the regulations, the tenant can recover the increase.
