Employees must be provided with a meal break at least every 5 hours of work:

• each meal break must be at least 30 minutes,

• any employer that makes the employee available during their meal break must pay the employee as time worked

• if an employer requires an employee to work or be available to work during a meal break must count the break as hours worked
