The following are general holidays in Alberta:
New Year's Day
Alberta Family Day
Good Friday
Victoria Day
Canada Day
Labour Day
Thanksgiving
Remembrance day
Christmas day
An employee is eligible if they have worked for the same employer for at least 30 work days or more in the 12 months preceding the general holiday
if a general holiday occurs during an employee's annual vacation, the employee must treat the holiday as if:
the holiday was the employee's first day back at work
by the agreement of the employee, on another day after the annual vacation that would normally be a working day
